About

Built by British Army PTIs. For athletes done guessing.

If you train seriously, you know the feeling: weeks of honest effort, no clear way to tell whether it worked, and the next block planned on the same guesswork as the last one. We built TPF because we were tired of it too — and because the answer has been sitting in the research for a decade. We put it in your pocket.

Why we built it.

You train hard for eight weeks and still can’t say whether the programme did what you thought it would. Most apps don’t help — they count sets and call it a day. 3×10 of bench gets the same credit as 3×10 of cable flyes, regardless of load, rest, or proximity to failure. So when you sit down to plan the next block, the numbers in the logbook tell you almost nothing about what to change.

The research has known better for a decade. Most apps still ignore it. TPF encodes it — every set scored, every weighting traceable to a paper — so the plan you build next is a decision, not a repeat of the last guess.

Counting tells you that you trained.
Scoring tells you whether it worked.

Who’s behind it.

British Army Physical Training Instructors. The people who professionally programme physical training for soldiers — not in theory, not on paper, but on tired bodies in cold weather with mixed equipment and a deadline.

We don’t put names or faces on the brand. The PTI experience is the credibility anchor; the science is the engine; the work speaks for itself.

What we believe.

  • The principles are few.

Apply the right stimulus. Recover. Push the load up. Keep showing up. The methods built on those four principles are infinite. The principles themselves barely change in a generation.

  • The plan you'll actually do beats the perfect one you won't.

The perfect programme you quit loses to the good one you keep. TPF helps you build the second kind — around your job, your sleep, your kit.

  • You should be your own expert.

We give you the engine. You make the calls. The science does the bookkeeping so you don't have to become a full-time student of training research to train well.

  • Honesty beats flattery.

If you're overcooking a muscle group, the engine says so. If you're under-recovered, it says so. An app that only shows you green lights isn't helping — it's just keeping you happy.

Be your own expert.
