About
Built by lifters. For lifters who are done guessing.
There’s a point in every serious lifter’s training where the app stops being useful. You’re logging your sets faithfully — but you don’t actually know if they’re enough. Or too much. Or the right kind. TPF was built to close that gap.
Why we built it.
You’ve been training seriously for a while. You know that three sets of ten isn’t the same as three effective sets — that rep range matters, proximity to failure matters, and that the research says certain lifts are better for certain muscles at certain positions. But your app doesn’t know any of that. It just counts your sets, the same as it did on day one.
The exercise-science literature has known better for a decade. Most apps still ignore it. TPF encodes it — every set scored, every weighting traceable to a paper, none of it guessed.
Who’s behind it.
Take Point Fitness is the work of British Army Physical Training Instructors with serious hypertrophy and strength backgrounds. PTIs are the people who professionally programme physical training for soldiers, and have to make it work — not in theory, not on paper, but on tired bodies in cold weather with mixed equipment and a deadline.
We don’t put names or faces on the brand. The PTI experience is the credibility anchor; the science is the engine; the work speaks for itself.
What we believe.
- The principles are few. Apply the right stimulus, recover, push the load up, keep showing up. The methods you build from those principles are infinite — the principles themselves barely change.
- The plan you’ll actually do is the plan that works. A perfect programme you can’t maintain beats nothing. But it loses to a good programme you actually run. TPF helps you build the second kind.
- You should be your own expert. We give you the engine. You make the calls. The science does the bookkeeping so you don’t have to become a full-time student of training research to train well.
- Honesty beats flattery. If you’re overcooking a muscle group, the engine tells you. If you’re under-recovered, it tells you that too. An app that only ever shows you green lights isn’t helping — it’s just keeping you happy.
